Xiaomi reveals key 12, 12 Pro specs while live photos leak ahead of official announcement tomorrow
Xiaomi has released a series of specs and photos of its upcoming flagship, the Mi 12 Pro. The company also confirmed that it will hold an event tomorrow to reveal its latest device.
Xiaomi is reportedly going to be announcing the new Mi 12 Pro alongside the Mi 10, and its successor will come with a dual rear camera, a pop-up selfie camera, and the company’s Snapdragon 855 chipset.
Xiaomi and Weibo claim to have revealed the Mi 12 Pro’s full specs and live images ahead of its official announcement, and the official teaser for the device has also been published on Weibo.
The 12 Pro will have a new 18:9 display, 3,200mAh battery, and a 12MP+64MP dual rear camera setup
The Mi 12 Pro comes with a dual camera setup on its back, featuring a 12MP primary and a 64MP secondary camera. The primary camera is accompanied by an 8MP ‘depth sensing’ camera.
According to Weibo, the Xiaomi Mi 12 Pro will also feature a new 18:9 display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Its predecessor, the Mi 10, used a similar 18:9 screen but this time, it’s the new Mi 12 Pro that seems to come with the larger display.
The device will have a 6.18-inch (18.7 cm) display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. On the front, the Mi 12 Pro will use a 6.47-inch (16.8 cm) pop-up camera system. This camera is said to be powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and can be used to shoot ultra-realistic photos.
In terms of connectivity, the device will come with support for 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi, but no mention of Bluetooth support has been made. It will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset as the Mi MIX 2S, and the Mi MIX 3.
The Mi 12 Pro will also get 3,200mAh battery capacity and will be available in two different color options: “Luna Blue” and “Ocean Blue.” It will have up to 512GB of inbuilt storage and support 4G LTE connectivity.
